So far, had a good scout about.. a LOT of lounging about going on.. No serious rain, although there was a 5 minute warning sprinkle as the sun dissapeared, been overcast and a bit chilly since like..

HEXSTATIC were fuc*ing superb in the BODYTONIC bit earlier.. UNDERTONES were rocking the ELECTRIC ARENA also earlier.. Looks like these 2 areas are the focus - everywhere else seems a bit vague..

We have already had a power issue here onsite, when the voltage dropped below 200v, and alot of wierd shite started happening - including some crucial gear dieng/loosing it.. This is why 2XM dissapeared for a bit, and we lost our Broadband too

Tune IN TO 2XM you c*nts, hit www.2fm.ie and follow the linx, or use your DAB radio and give it a look.. some nice uninterrupted sets thar..

Later on 2FM: i am promised sets from BEASTIE BOYS and JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, so booze & fags & then Razorblades at the ready..

Probing Streams

Tried to get mplayer to play the .smil files for 2FM and 2XM, got win32codec error.
Saved the .smil files to disc, (2FM.smil and 2XM.smil respectfully)...

Aha! I see a rtsp:// in there! That'll be the one!

mplayer rtsp://XX.XXX.XX.X/broadcast/dab2.rm

And it played back full, no win32codec issue at all.
"Problem" is, Ive been looking about and found a good few streams on deg-XXXX-XX.rte.ie now, like dab1.rm and dab3.rm are -=interesting=-...

As per usual, looks like RedHat Enterprise 4, ports 80 and 554 look like rtsp output, 8080 is probably a proxy and SSL is alive but closed, probably admin port.

So, question is, how many channels are in that thing? What's the easiest way to browse the box without manually entering in a random guessed .rm name?

there should be 10 services there, and the RECIVA https://www.reciva.com/index.php website has some interesting links to streaming stations, both in RTE and elsewhere - meant for the RECIVA web radio sets, but easily COPY/PASTEd into whatever you like, and they have a neato search engine..

alot of them are streaming MP3, but some use Helixplayer/Realplayer - both of which have statics for Linux, and both of which seem to crash horribly..

Mplayer is, of coarse, the mose flexible once it has doze codecs..

...remembering of coarse, to install all your WIN32 codecs in /usr/lib/win32 if you are on Linux (isn`t everyone??) - yes, i know , you have to MAKE the folder "win32" first.. look here --> http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html for all the gear you need.
