See kids.....thats what happens when you spend too much time smoking herb & watching 24hr Eutelsat foreign porn
(ive been to the bratcave,I know the score )
Ok so the last time i listened to something from Nick Warren 'probably a different Global Underground, Prague, Budapest or Brazil' I couldn be to sure what it was because it was in a mates house in Galway after a thirteen hour session. I tried my best to listen to it but there was these Spanish birds telling me dirty words ..in Spanish obviously, so my attention wasnt fully on the CD
So basically i wasnt completely sure what to expect from Mr Warren, i just thought House. How wrong was i, good job i didnt put my house on it coz id be living in a shed right now!
These CD's have alot more going on than i had anticipated. I knew for sure that 'of course' the mixing would be excellent and it certainly is. This man has truly mastered his art because the mixing on this compilation is as quality and as tight as Gwen Stefani in hotpants.
CD(1)
This CD gets things going very nicely with some beautiful tracks that were very well chosen and hooked together even better.
Disc one just builds and builds, but like a politcians bank balance....discreetly!
You dont really feel like its gone to the next level until track eight slams in, which brings me to this...
SURE PLAYERS.
Track eight BCML- Mr Horowitz, yes yes yes and yes, this track is as beautiful as a couple of packs of Koka noodles after a day on the piss!
On this disc this track gives a bigger bite than Ronaldino's teeth,i want this like i want Jessica Alba..ON MY DECK AND NOW! lol
Others that do the business are Alex Stealthy- Once, Starecase-Vapour trails and Seyton-The Drake Equation.
CD(2)
Disc two is where Nick starts pastin out the breaks, especially towards the end. But dont think youl'l get it all your own way if breaks are 'your bag'! Theres a real 'trancey, hands in the air "i love you your my best friend" feel that seems to freely flow through until the end. It may drift off for a couple of tracks but it arrives back as subtle and alive as it started before you even realised it was gone.
The end of the CD has real emotional content, you can nearly imagine yourself at a gig with a few best mates, pissed off your face just enjoying the tunes and the atmosphere.....mmmmm shiney lights
SUREPLAYERS.
The tracks on this that are on the money are, Holden & Thompson-Come to me, Blendbrank- Synthetic Symphony, Marcel Schonbrann-Maleta and Murat Uncuoglu- The flame!
....Thats it then, and look if House and breaks dont do it for you, dont let it deter you. Turn it up and before you know it you'l be boppin your head like David Gray on speed
Global Underground #28 Nick warren-Shanghai,
Sweet as a nut!
