    Tivoli Statement

    Quote:
Please be advised that due to technical issues at the Ferry Corsten event on Friday 30th January the Tivoli Theatre was forced to end the show before Ferry Corsten played.
We sincerely apologise to all those that attended the event and for the inability to make an announcement which has led to a measure of confusion. Due to the fact that there was a sell out crowd the Gardai helped us to clear the venue.
Ferry was at the venue on the night and would like to express his disappointment at the situation as he was ready to play. We would also like to point out that this early closure was neither the fault of Planetlove or Ferry Corsten.
We are currently working with PlanetLove to reschedule the show and wish to express to all those that were there on the night our disappointment also. Anybody with a valid ticket or receipt for tickets can either get in touch with Ticketmaster for a refund in the next seven days or get in touch with the venue in order to go to the rescheduled event which we will post details of as soon as it has been confirmed. We would like to thank all concerned for their patience.

    Official Planet Love Music Statement

    Quote:
    Statement From Planetlove Music

In relation to the early closure of the Tivoli Theatre on Friday January
30th, Planetlove Music would like to issue the following statement:

We as promoters fulfilled our obligation to provide the advertised
entertainment to the venue, Tivoli Theatre in Dublin on Friday January 30th,
    2009.

Unfortunately, for reasons outside of our control, the venue closed early
whereby Ferry Corsten was unable to perform.

We would like to point out that Ferry Corsten was at the venue and ready to
perform but was not able to do so.

We at Planetlove would like to ensure that anyone aggrieved by this will be
given a full refund for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster, our official
outlets. Ticket receipts produced to Ticketmaster within the next 7 days
    will be refunded without question.

Although this closure was not the fault of PLM or Ferry Corsten we believe
that you, the clubber, should not suffer financially as a result of this
action so we have therefore instructed Ticketmaster to act whilst our
company challenges the venue for compensation.

We have paid the full cost of all artists and costs for this night and are
not in receipt of any monies so please understand that we have had to wait
until today before we could arrange the appropriate course of action.

The venue has promised to release their own statement today, Monday,
advising as to the reasons behind the early closure.

Again apologies from PLM and I hope you understand this was completely
outside of our control and we have now acted, at our cost, to ensure you do
not suffer financially as a result.

"Due to the fact that there was a sell out crowd the Gardai helped us to clear the venue."
    LOL!

First time I've ever known the cops to turn up due to a technical difficulty. People were there, sounds were there, PA was there, decks were there, electricity was there, running water was there, bouncers were there... WHAT technical difficulty? The tivoli tries to cover their arse, but end up butt naked.

Was told turn the music off . . . .

The Inability to Issue a Statement was due to not knowing why they were being turfed out. . . . the following were took from various people that attended the night & this their own opinions . . .

      Irish Rave scene
Why the bouncers say the guards were closin the place if it were technical fault hmm not convinced

lol technical difficultys? i must ring 999 the next time my PeeCee freezes!!

I cannot remember a venue being shut DURING an event ever.. I have been in the middle of raids in a few different countries, and not once has the night been pulled in progress.. The law usually pounce, get what they came for and fu*k off to do the paperwork and put in the expence claim for the overtime, leaving the non-caught-rapid members of the crowd to continue going about their business.

..all this 'ferry was at the venue' stuff is interesting - it demonstrates the promoters weren't on a scam-ride, so they are innocent of trying to pull a fast one with a bent lineup.. The problem with all this is - NOBODY does bent lineups anymore, thanks to our good friend TEH INTERNETS.. A bendy lineup gets reported instantly, so to even attempt to produce evidance that ferry was on site at all smells very fishy indeed. Like seriously, what is this in aid of?

I am still nowhere nearer an explination, in fact after reading the 2 statements quoted above, i am now speculating wildly as to what really happend..

So, let's take a vote on WHAT REALLY HAPPEND:

            [1]

Well, from 2 eyewitness reports i heard, even the street outside was a zoo at 11pm, with fights going off as taxis pulled up, and the atmos inside the place was sinister at times, so maybe the security/gardai did a mel gibson on it:

            BROK3N ARR0W

            [2]

The first official spoof on the street: Someone in the venue forgot to get a bar-extension/licence plugin to stay open past normal pub hours - a bit bleeding unlikely don't you think, after all, it is a fuc*ing venue, not a tesco-express

            FORGOTY Mc LICENCE

            [3]

Rival monster gangs lead by Godzilla & Mothra were fighting to the death near the Jax, and combined elements of the Japanese Airforce & Navy were threatening to nuke Francis st. unless the gardai stepped in

            GANG WARZ

            [4]

The plain-clothes occifers of teh law inside the venue (for there was a unit on-site, they were the 30+ YOs dressed with stuff from TOP MAN) attempted to apprehend someone they had a warrent for/was up to evil deeds/had a better looking bird then them/they used to go to school with and got bullied by/was just definatly due a pull, and that someone & his mates decided this wasn't going to happen because they had dranked 2 flaggins of magic potion, and that was that.

            DID YOU SPILL MY PINT

            [5]

The venue / security / promoter / barstaff were clowns, and an observer with teh magic super-overrides health & safety button made the call

            CLOWNTIME

            [6]

Gee, hey, i dunno man, it's just one of those things, you know?

^ That looks like a typical friendly crowd! I hear a couple of booooos at the start, but the stage-invasions, and the long-haired yahoo trying to keep people off the stage is HILARIOUS..

I'm sorry, but that does NOT look like an agreeeeeeh bunch of violent thugs to me..

this is actually more serious.. how the fu*k can i have DJ'd for 25 years and have only ever seen 2 scraps? i'll tell you why - ATTITUDE. if someone goes to a club tooled up, you have to ask yourself WHY would they do that..

I only carry a weapon when i know i might need one. yes i carry a weapon sometimes, get over it - try to jack me and i'll cut you bitch etc. so, think for a moment, wtf is happening? people firstly think they NEED to carry a weapon to a trance gig, and secondly, they know they can GET AWAY with bringing a weapon to a club.

this is total horseshit my friends. people we hang out with feel the need to tool up - and the same thing that makes them tool up ENABLES them to tool up - and that thing is : THEY DON'T TRUST [venue/promoter] TO GUARANTEE THEIR SAFETY.. It's logic "..if some other spa has a blade, then i better have one in case it kicks off.." - this BTW is what makes America grrrrrrrrreat, they say you can have a gun if you want, because everyone has a gun and it's only fair that You should be able to shoot them back if they shoot You..

                            BLADES ALL ROUND EVERYBODY!!!
