    Right, ive 2 months work coming up.

    i have 2 choices, 1: get to ibiza finally and blow the lot on a good time

    or 2: get a djm800 and a 2 1000's mk3's and try and break on to the scene?

    I sold my decks 3 months ago with the intention of upgrading only to be let go the following day grrrrrrrrr

    I have to say both are very tempting!

    plus im going back to college in sept so it will be another year before i get a nice bit of cash together

    the way the scene goin you'll be safe enough gettin decks in a years time but at least you'll get a taste of real clubbing if ya hit ibiza, we're hoping to make it this year myself and the missus, really hope we do

    failing that, show me where pioneer guarantee gigs from the purchase of their brand, i use a set of seperates numark cdj-styley decks and mixer (bargain at €450 2nd hand!!) but also using virtual dj on the laptop to spin the tunes at home and just use the club decks when ya get the call to play

          Ibiza sucks balls BIGTIME. food is shit, clubs are poor, it's FILTHY and swarming with pissed-up munters (san-an,west end) and predatory newage headtheballs (ibiza town, rural) - but even these are endangered species as the local gov. are hellbent on turning the place into a 'family holiday destination' for (mostly) germans.. So you get this tense feeling everywhere, where some premesis are allowing UK & Scanner promoters in to run club nights, but these are doing so against the general wishes of the areas..

          The cops flexed their muscles last year with multiple raids and licence-suspensions, hitting some of the better-known all-nighters hard, so this has furthar raised the tensions locally, and put pressure on venue-owners to quit running club nights, and switch to nice safe kareoke and pickled-fish platters...

          There is a fair amount of 'corralling' going on too.. like on the greek islands, where they force all english-speakers to stay in the same resorts - sometimes physically removing them from places that have been un-officially designated as [insert other nationality here].. This can be pretty unsettling, and is a genuine fail, as you don't get to get off with scanner chicks anymore

          So, go to Ibiza if you want, you can look forward to:

          * funny looks from germans with their kids
          * randomers in your room at night
          * poisoning
          * 100euro to get in to [shit club with shit soundsystem]
          * the same fuc*ing DJs you get to see [anywhere]
          * obnoxious police who call you 'gringo' and tell you not to set fire to the bedrooms
          * piss in the sangria
          * nowhere serving paella because germans & brits don't like it
          * 24-hour tension and paranoia
          * hot & cold running rats in the streets
          * did i mention the high probability of getting stabbed?

          In short, YOU CAN GET STABBED AT HOME FOR FREE - fu*k that shit, spend your money on toys. Toys will keep you warm at night, while a holiday in Ibiza, the odds are stacked against you - FULL STOP.

          Yes, i fuc*ing hate Ibeefah. It's clinging to a memory of a wonderous age (1975-1985) when it actually meant something, and was at the cusp of a genuine revolution of freedom of expression & good times.. But them someone ****d it untill it vomited money - and they continue to do it, even though it screams NO NO NO.

          If you go to Ibeefah instead of buying toys, JESUS WILL KILL A KITTEN AND 3 PUPPIES!!!!!

                  lol.

                  to be honest its not in my mental health's interest by going to ibiza. if i went last year im 100% sure i would have ended up in some institution.

                  i only drink cider now but last weekend i was on a serious bender and to be fair my mind is in a very fragile state this week. it could also be time to knock drink on the head! maybe if i had a job i'd be in a better state of mind. Era, college interview next week so something to look forward to i guess!

                    Yup the papers were full of DRINK IS FINISHED articles today.. Apparently everyone is sick of getting drunk/high/ill, but, it's not because they want to save their internal organs, it's because they are paying thru' the nose for it! You can drive to [n.ireland boarder town with hypermart with suspiciously oversized carpark] and avail of the very same gargle for a YOU BUY NOW price. Watch e4+1 or any of the UK channels without the irish ads inserted, and you will see TESCO are doing 24 cans of delicious carlsberg, for 9.99 sterling!!!!! Do the math - thats 24 cans of delicious angrehhh juice for a Tenspot! And if you go for a less european beer, like MILLER SHITE, you can get 24 bottles for 6.99 in MORRISONS!

                    This, of coarse, is clouding the issue - the facts are, we are OVER drink now. If you have seen THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, you know that READERS DIGEST in the 50's suggested delicious fags cause cancer. This started the shitstorm that has dragged on ever since. In the past few weeks, US media has started to slip in the results of a (heavily stifled by media outlets that have a booze interest) research project, that clearly indicates that booze has a link to cancer!

                    So, get ready for booze prohibition, and when it becomes more strictly controlled, or even b&, YOU KNOW IT WILL BE THE THING TO DO!!!!!!!!!

                            Yup, Holland/Belgium is a great place to hang out in the summer... The food is interesting at worst, the shopping is grrrrrreat, and they are very passionate about the arts - if you cannot get your nuts in the lowlands, you are already dead..
