The BBC have the same issue as RTE with their top stars.. they refuse to give them 'permanent' contracts, opting to give them job-by-job or fixed-term contracts, hoping to be able to dump them at short notice without any comeback.. this works for stars that don't deliver, but if the project is a win, then the script gets flipped, and the next time the contract comes up, the star SCREWS them. This is how Jonathan Ross gets 5 million quid - if the BBC only offered some job security, and showed some trust & loyalty, then this would not happen.. Tennant, and the previous Doctor, are obviously calling the BBCs bluff now, and asking for REAL fuc*ing moneys.. Remember, Dr. Who SAVED the BBC's drama department, and proved their most successful export ever - an amazing turn of events in such a economic downturn.. THIS my friends is the strength of PUBLIC SERVICE broadcasting.. If the BBC were SKY or ITV, then Dr. WHO would never have made a comeback..

ITV need to step up to the BBC and enuf them with a FAR more serious SciFi series. One with Long words and a professor that invents things, hawt chicks in white catsuits, and LOTS of spaceships and pew-pew-pew lazarguns.. Fu*k yeah..
