your not going to get a pair of 1000's second hand..

your cheapest bet is to find somewhere online.. but it will cost you a load anyway.. just get one now and save up for the other one.. or get a pair of 800's for the price of 1 1000..

a m8 got the nu technics thingys, that play MP3s and so on.. very interesting, but more lag then the pioneers (if you like your flutter-scratches..) has the same bug as the DENONs that support MP3 - no "time left" countdown when playing MP3s

very nice looking though, and COVERED in gadgets..

worth 1200eu each though - i dunno about that..

with regard to the Technic's cd players, id personally wait for the mk 2 versions.

the current model feels and looks great, no doubt about that. their just not as easy to use as the pioneer's. thats all.

Well i've not used the Technics SL-DZ1200 but i've just acquired a pair of Numark CDX. Now they are a serious bit of kit. It's pretty weird, have to keep reminding myself that I'm play CDs, pretty much the same as using records though. Nice few effects on board, echo is tight and the chop effect is good for scratching, means you don't have to crossfade as much.
The loop section is awesome. You can set a 4 beats loop and then extend it to as much as 32 beats or shrink it to 1/2 a beat seamlessly on the fly. And if you don't get the loop exactly right it fixes it for you! You can pull of some pretty impressive sounds by using key-lock in conjunction with the 100% pitch range on the slider, real time stretchy stuff, Picotto & Umek et al would have a fuckin field day!
As with all Numark kit they're pretty easy to use, I always find denon very un-intuitive to be honest, maybe that's me. My boss paid $2300 AUS for this pair, which included bisnitch flight cases, so that's about half that in yo-yos I believe..?
The other bonus is that now I, a hardcore CDJ, can profess to be able to mix real records! Imagine that!
Someone was looking for good download sites...
Traxsource.com - good for house, more of the us stuff, soulfuric MN2S and that soulful sound
Clickgroove.com - good for beats, deep house, tech house (4Kenzo) etc
Beatport.net - electro house and house
Stompy.com - house, deep and electro, trance
                        Trackitdown.net - trance & breaks etc
Audiojelly is good for hard trance etc., not my thing though so???
                        Ollie
                        PureHouseMusic.net
                        ...it's a groove thing
