So im in Saudi arabia and i was toying with the idea of getting a big ass telly and sending it home for cheap,

The guy believe it or not is white pasty and foxy knick named Paul Scholes yet hes as Arab as they come and from Saudi

He offers me this smart TV, now i dont know much about TV's except if it has a good picture or not,

GET THIS..... a smart TV has APPS!!!!!



Why?


Why the FCUK do i want to get a telly that has apps when my phone does and i can carry it around in my pocket?

it's about habits. if You like to watch TV the size of a pack of fags, and try hold the device in Your hand up in front of Your face, as it drags RF through Your hand or ballsack (acting like a microwave ovan, giving your hand-cancer or bollocks ebola) then Your iFail or Droid is the way to go. If You liek to sit in a chair, and enjoy properly scaled and frame-rated 2d or 3d visuals, while resting your arms and enjoying a nice fat spliff and a pint of absynth and lucozade, then a SMART TV is for You.

In order of Non-Rapeyness, these are the brands to go with:

1 - Sony - tries to get money out of You, but You can ignore it. also does *all* types of 3d and plays all formats of bent files you download, also has good selection of SMART free streaming stuff and does NETFLIX etc. Can be DNS spoofed so You can enjoy on-demand from anywhere. Usually has Analogue inputs also (scart/s-vhs). Does DVBt, DVBs in MP4, has CA slot for pay-TV hacking, and supports 'multi-stream' satellite compression as used in cable feeds.

2 - Samsung - Same as SONY, but slightly less choice on it's network, and more secure firmware, so less 3rd party hacks. Also questionable satellite performance.

3 - LG - Cheaper then the other 2, less connectivity, but secretly less brain damage and less history of recalls. Pay less, expect less.

I have a shitload of SMART devices, and they are ALL bollocks. all of them try to extract money from You in the form of a subscription. my SONY TV wants to know my details so it can charge me for shite on the SEN - the same bloat that it's PLAYSTATION crap is served from. My XbOx wants me to sub to that micro$oft shite, etc. etc. The bottom line is, it's all the same crap You can get from piratebay or on satellite or whatever.

It's all about experience. and for me, a fucking massive screen, and a kilowatt of audio through speakers that are bigger then a fridge shits all over any LCD portable device You care to produce, and it will continue to do so for another 20 years+.

Just be aware that the future is MP4 for broadcast formats, so don;t get stung with a device that only does Mpeg2. be sure it can play mp4 files and support 'HD' satellite and terrestrial.
