what were those yokes for anyway? remember the diff colour boxes that were in a wierd shape on the telly before bosco came on......

the old bbc 1 is on springers cd.... 'test' as in back in the day , before transmission started the 'test card' was on screen , letting anyone watching know they were recieving the transmission.

they were so you could get yer colour/contrast just spot on

they were around in black&white days too, suppose 'test card' is self explanatory really, you could test several things with it

yep - they were for @calibration@ of your screen..

thesedays, you want to focus on the places the colourbars MEET - for bleed.. and on the @grated@ bits - do they @cycle@ the smaller the grid? and so on..
