  • Mix Thingy

Seen as Sasha restored my faith in DJ'ing last week in Fabric (will prob last for about another 3 or 4 days) I decided to become re-accquainted with my 1's & 2's, heres my first attempt at stringing more than 4 tunes together (in a non gig enviroment) since January..

(Anyone who wants a tracklist can ring me & I'll call it out over the phone so you can type all that bollocks out, its an electro'y tech house'y kind of affair)

lol...seriously...it wasnt "sasha" that we know & moan about.
Sasha fucking rocked last week & no-ones more surprised than me...none of this usual prog house/trance bollocks that i was expecting (except for maybe 2 tracks in the 6 hours we saw of him)...he was all out driving filthy basslines & crazy sounding breakdowns....we were seriously in shock for most of the night.....Im a moany cunt when it comes to being impressed by dj's but he actually was ridiculously good, deffo a "fabric only" type performance I'd say.

Recorded some mpeg clips, heres some of the sounds from'em,
            His Intro:

Some clips of tracks...I kinda missed some of the really filthy ones as I was "a little bit confused" so to speak

ehhhhhh...not really....Sasha blew me away cos thats the kinda stuff he was playing at Fabric last week...proper filth, but that was definitely not his usual style....I like a lot of what Steve Lawler is playing at the minute & most Zabiela 4/4 moments, not that mad on his breakier side...I just take what I like from various headz

Fergie is a load of wank,he dosnt know what hes at/playing....cant DJ for shit, spinback after spinback...its like he knows of about five "techno" producers & he'll just play anything they give him..

Tong is always upfront, but then again so would anyone be if you were the first person to have a copy of nearly every tune made...plays too many gay sounding housey records though

I saw fergie in Wexford years ago when he was still playing hard house & all that jazz...back then he was technically perfect...from the second the vinyl went on the table it was pure pitch all the way, never touched it once even to give it that first knock on....this was when he was about 20 & still riding the whole TDV wave & granted he was living upto it

Fast forward to now & hes disgraceful...still playing crossover techno tracks that are 12 to 18 months old....spinning back into most tracks as he cant hold a mix & basically being all over the shop....if it wasnt for his radio1 show he'd be dead in the water

I dunno what it is but when I look at his BBC playlist I just cant match him to any of the stuff...and alot of it is just monotonous european techno that went stale early last year

He got lazy....it happens....at least he jumped off the hard house ship when it fell outta public favour

gotta agree with all of that

he was spot on technically in his hard house days (not that its particularly hard to be spot on technically with hard house, but still), but since he decided to start playing techno hes gone to the absolute dogs technically
