This has been in dev since feb 2007, and has now reached it's second major distibution, with daily kernel updates, and lots of activity by developers..
Popular in France by the looks of it, but still a bit pricey at $399us, the reason this phone rocks so hard is it's got linux under the hood, and with the amount of people being let go by telecoms companies every week, this is the OBVIOUS way to flex the brain while waiting for the next celtic tiger to happen along..
It's not a Quadband handset, so it's not much use in the states (yay!) and russia is apparently blanked from the dev offer (yay!).. the UK distro has none left (yay!) so direct from the openmoko store is the only way right now..
Anyway, let's all think about it, drool a little, dream a little, then stick with our current phones that cost us nothing etc.
