you obviously have spyware, get mcafee suite 2006, its on clubeire! -
SPYBOT is kinda good for most of the usual sleeper infections.. but you REALLY want to avoid using anything that comes with windows!
get www.free-av.com on the virus checking, www.spybot.com for itch-removal, www.opera.com for browsing..
regularly do a START>RUN>msconfig and disable all those bollocks toolbars and stuff you don`t recognise in the STARTUP tab.
regularly use the INSTALL/REMOVE programs thing in the control panel to dump all that crap you don`t need.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use "internet explorer" for anything at all if you can help it.
dont get driver-fever!!! if things work - LEAVE THEM ALONE. if things STOP working, work out what you did to fu*k it up, and roll-back, or undo whatever it was you did. don`t install every bloody upgrade and fix you see UNLESS YOU NEED TO TO FIX A PROBLEM.
disable all the "automatic update" crap with msconfig - disable all of the ridiculous services at startup you don`t need - like remote desktop blah..
